What do you really want? How do you know when something is a genuine yes? What happens when you want to say no but find yourself saying yes instead?
Many of us have learned to prioritize what others want, struggle to ask for what we need, or feel uncomfortable receiving.
In this interactive group experience, we’ll explore the Wheel of Consent through playful exercises, sensory awareness, meaningful reflection, and opportunities to practice making choices.
You’ll have space to get curious about your desires, notice your boundaries, and explore the difference between giving, receiving, taking, and allowing.
Whether you’re completely new to this work or have explored it before, you’re welcome to come as you are.
This class is about choosing, not doing.
November Gathering
Saturday, November 7, 2026
12:00-4:00 PM
Evanston, Illinois
Investment: $35 per person
Space is limited to keep our gatherings intimate and welcoming.
Each gathering is shaped by the experience, curiosity, and learning needs of the people who attend.
We learn and practice together as a group, beginning with foundational skills and exploring more advanced practices when appropriate. Whether you’re new to the Wheel of Consent or returning to deepen your understanding, there’s always something new to discover.
Through guided experiential practices, we may explore:
A solo exploration of sensation, curiosity, and pleasure. Practice noticing what you experience, what interests you, and what you enjoy.
A partnered practice for exploring the difference between giving and receiving, asking for what you want, making choices, and honoring boundaries.
A more advanced partnered practice for developing clarity about what you want, communicating your desires, and navigating consent together.
Not every gathering will include every exercise. We move at the pace of the group, allowing time for learning, exploration, and integration.
Every practice is an invitation, never an obligation. Touch is always optional, and you get to decide what feels right for you in each moment.
You can say yes, say no, change your mind, or choose not to participate in an exercise. Each of these choices is an opportunity to practice consent.
The goal isn’t to push past your boundaries or accomplish a particular activity. It’s to become more aware of what you want, what you don’t want, and how to honor those choices in connection with others.
The Wheel of Consent is something we learn through experience, not just understanding concepts.
Each gathering offers opportunities to slow down, notice your sensations, explore your choices, and practice communicating with greater clarity.
New participants are welcome, and returning participants can continue deepening their awareness and exploring familiar practices in new ways.
Because each gathering is shaped by the people who attend, no two experiences will be exactly alike.
You’re welcome to attend once or return as often as you’d like.
The Art of Receiving & Giving welcomes adults ages 18 and older.
You don’t need to arrive with a partner, know anyone beforehand, or have any experience with Wheel of Consent events.
Come as you are, with your curiosity, your boundaries, and your authentic self.
A little preparation will help you feel comfortable and ready to enjoy our afternoon together.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and comfortably.
This is a fully clothed event, and clothing stays on throughout.
Please avoid fragrances and glitter to help keep the space comfortable and accessible for everyone.
The Art of Receiving & Giving is a sober event. Please arrive sober and remain substance-free throughout our time together. Alcohol and recreational drugs are not permitted.
Doors open at the scheduled event start time. Participants have 30 minutes to arrive, get comfortable, and settle into the space before our opening circle begins.
Everyone must be present for the opening circle so we can introduce ourselves and review our shared agreements.
No one will be admitted after the opening circle begins, 30 minutes after the event start time.
You’re welcome to leave at any time.
My sweet, calm 9-pound senior poodle mix, Ginger, lives here and may be present during our gatherings. She’s non-shedding, loves people, and may greet you when you arrive. If you have allergies, concerns about dogs, or prefer not to interact with her, please let me know during your intake call so we can discuss your needs.
All new participants are required to complete a free, 30-minute intake call before registering.
This gives us an opportunity to get acquainted, discuss what you’re hoping to experience, review any questions or concerns, and make sure the event is a good fit for you.
After your intake call, I’ll share the registration details with you.
If you’ve previously attended any of my other events, you’re welcome to register directly with me. No additional intake call is necessary.
